Autonomous AI Surveillance for the Modern Cockpit.

Technology in development: an on-board camera and AI model that follow every movement in the cockpit, detect an attack, an incapacitated pilot or abnormal movement within seconds, and alert the crew and the ground. All processing happens on the aircraft.

Watch the film

Detection within seconds.

The on-board model tracks posture and movement and detects six defined events, from a pilot who has stopped moving to a struggle in the cockpit. A continuous anomaly score covers what no rule described. No dependence on a ground server.

The alert reaches whoever can act.

A safety event alerts the pilots first. A security event goes straight to the cabin crew and the airline's operations control center, without depending on anyone in the cockpit.

A short illustration of the vision: what Deckwatch is meant to see in the cockpit.

AI-generated concept film. Not footage of an operating system.

What we are building

AI on the aircraft itself

The model runs on a dedicated unit inside the aircraft. Detection does not wait for a satellite link or a ground server.

Privacy by design

No facial recognition and no audio recording. Video is encrypted and stays on the aircraft. Only a flagged event sends a short message and a video clip.

Six events and an anomaly score

Three security events and three safety events, each with a clear rule and an alert time, plus a score learned from normal flight.

Designed against real events

The event list is derived from records of past cockpit incidents, and the system will be measured against reconstructions of them.

Where it stands

Deckwatch is technology in development, not a product. A first version of the monitor exists as code and has been tested on synthetic data. It is not certified and is not installed on any aircraft.

1

Demo on staged footage

The six events, reconstructed and measured: how many seconds until each alert.

2

Pilot with a first operator

A flight school, a cargo carrier or a business-jet operator, outside certified equipment.

3

Certification with an avionics partner

Installation on aircraft goes through a certified manufacturer. Such a partner is one of the things we are looking for.
